Osteoarthritis

Considered to be the most common kind of arthritis.

It is also known as degenerative joint disease. This is due to the wearing down of the cartilage in the joints, resulting in pain and thus, restriction of movement. Though it was commonly believed to be caused by age, recent developments have shown evidence that even young people can develop this condition. Osteoarthritis may be categorized into primary and secondary types. Primary osteoarthritis is the condition wherein no other underlying cause is identified.

Secondary osteoarthritis is the condition that results from injury or any other underlying cause.
